Lots been going on! Worked on a large Summer of Love mural with Bill Weber in the Haight area of San Francisco for 7 months last year. (Got 1 photo up, will be adding more). You'll find Jerry Garcia, Janis, Joan Baez, Jim Morrison (no, he didn't perform there, but hung out), George Harrison and Patti Boyd (also were hanging out), Timothy Leary, Jimi Hendrix. Painting this was an experience and not always fun. In case you don't know, San Francisco can be really chilly and windy in the summer, and last summer was worse than usual and the chill lasted through September. That meant days that were literally too cold to work up on the scaffold in the wind, and other days that were barely warm enough, so I had to wear winter clothes up there - a parka, scarf, hat, boots, etc!
Also been busy doing more mixed media paintings - you'll a few new ones in that section. Check out the new photos too - my "Raven" series - all taken in New Mexico in a mostly ghost town called Cimarron in the mountains. There's a genuine Old West hotel there called the St. James, with lots of the original furniture, fixtures, etc intact. All the "Who's Who" of the Old West passed through that hotel in the day - The Earps, Doc Holliday, Bat Masterson, Jesse James, and others. There was, and still is, a saloon downstairs, and the hotel had 2 gambling rooms as well (no longer in use today). As you might imagine, there were numerous incidents there involving guns, and deaths. Some of the violently departed still hang at this hotel - yes, apparitions are frequently encountered there, manifesting in different ways all over the hotel, but particularly in Room 18 on the 2nd floor. This room is so active (in the paranormal sense), that it is kept padlocked and never rented, ever. Very spooky..(and I loved it!). Plan to go back and actually spend a few nights there, hoping to glimpse a few of the departed wanderers...All is definitely a stimulant to my dark imagination...
I'm doing lots more work and will be checking in here more often and putting up new work, so come back
